Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to start their career in accounting and finance while pursuing their AAT qualification. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate purchase ledger records and supporting the finance team with various accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure they are accurately recorded in the purchase ledger.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, including BACS and cheque payments.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier records.
  • Respond to supplier queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.

Requirements:

  • A keen interest in accounting and finance.
  • Currently pursuing or planning to pursue AAT qualification.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
