Receipts and Payments Clerk

We are seeking a dedicated Receipts and Payments Clerk to manage the day-to-day activities of designated cash books, perform bank account reconciliations, and handle daily Direct Payment Notifications (DPNs) and Telegraphic Transfers (TTs). This role is crucial in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our finance department.

Day-to-Day of the Role:
  • Post all cash transactions daily and ensure that all unidentified cash is thoroughly investigated and resolved.
  • Respond to DPNs from site, providing Accounts Receivable (AR) with the necessary paperwork.
  • Undertake daily TTs received from site, upload payments to the bank, and provide Accounts Payable (AP) with the paperwork.
  • Ensure adherence to company financial controls and all reporting deadlines are met.
  • Maintain records for auditing purposes and ensure compliance with the Operational Accounting Manual – Cashiering Process.
  • Communicate regularly with internal customers to ensure good relations and prompt resolution of any issues or queries.
  • Review working practices continuously and strive for improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Effective interpersonal skills with a good telephone manner.
  • Proficient in cashiering and accounts reconciliation.
  • A proactive 'can do' attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards in compliance with the Operational Accounting Manual and company policies.
  • Willing to train if you have some accounting experience
