Medical Equipment Services Operations Manager
Location: Peterborough (with occasional travel to other sites and Head Office)
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £60,000-$75,000
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Equipment Services Operations Manager to oversee the contract and service delivery for key healthcare accounts. You will be responsible for ensuring all service obligations, including maintenance and operational KPIs, are met in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner. This role involves leading the management and performance of medical equipment services on-site, liaising with senior stakeholders, and providing technical and scientific leadership.

Contract & Performance Management: Take full responsibility for managing service delivery against KPIs and operational targets, ensuring client satisfaction and compliance with service agreements.

Client & Stakeholder Relations: Represent the organization in key meetings, including with clients, OEMs, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and relationship-building. Provide leadership to win client confidence.

Operational Excellence: Oversee maintenance and service-related obligations across multiple sites, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety standards. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions.

Budget & Financial Management: Collaborate with the Head of Managed Equipment Services and the Commercial Team to manage the budget for the account, working to optimise purchasing efficiency and operational costs.

Audit & Incident Management: Lead the investigation of incidents involving medical devices, ensuring a thorough understanding of technical issues. Perform audits on clinical equipment and ensure the accuracy and up-to-date status of asset databases.

Compliance & Regulatory Liaison: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including MHRA, CQC, and NHS LA. Lead communication with regulatory bodies and implement necessary procedures for compliance.

Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and deliver detailed performance reports, ensuring all commercially significant issues are highlighted. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports to senior management.

Team Leadership & Support: Supervise, mentor, and motivate the operations team, ensuring high levels of staff engagement and professional development. Foster a collaborative team environment to achieve operational objectives.

Service Development: Contribute to the development and improvement of services, ensuring that quality management systems for medical equipment are maintained and enhanced.

Essential:

Proven experience in managing medical equipment services and operations, including contract management.

Strong technical background in medical equipment, including maintenance, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Experience of working in a clinical or healthcare environment, ideally NHS or private healthcare.

Postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject.

Registration as a Clinical Technologist or Clinical Scientist (VRCT or HCPC).

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including MHRA, CQC, and NHS LA.

Proven leadership experience and ability to manage teams effectively.

HNC/D or professional qualification in a relevant field.

Advanced skills in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with specifying and evaluating medical equipment.

Knowledge of clinical workflows and working with senior clinical staff.

Location: The role is based at the Peterborough site, with occasional travel to other locations and the Head Office.
