Export Sales Executive

We are seeking an Export Sales Executive to join our team at a well-established wholesaler with over 100 years of trading history. The role involves managing non-UK business sales and queries, assisting with UK sales when needed, and working towards new business development and product diversification. This position offers the opportunity to grow into a business development role and requires an energetic, friendly, and hard-working individual who enjoys engaging with customers and being part of a team.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Handle enquiries and respond to customer queries, keeping them updated with order and shipment statuses.
  • Liaise with the warehouse on labelling and dispatch arrangements.
  • Create quotations, follow up, and process sales orders.
  • Check stock availability and liaise with procurement to buy in stock as required.
  • Deal with import and export customs and shipping documentation.
  • Upsell existing clients and develop new clients.
  • Work with marketing to target new customers.
  • Research market opportunities overseas and use LinkedIn to target new customers.
  • Develop, document, and constantly improve export processes and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Some level of commercial qualification is desirable, with reasonable qualifications in Maths and English essential.
  • Commercial awareness with a good level of numeracy.
  • Meticulous, accurate, flexible, dedicated, and hard-working.
  • Strong team player with a desire to contribute and be appreciated.
  • Strong ethics and supportive of our organisational culture.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with commercial software packages, ideally Sage 200.
  • Several years of experience in sales and purchasing in a commercial environment, ideally with food/plant stuffs or similar products.
  • Experience with import and export documentation.
