Lead Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting both clean water and water recycling infrastructure projects. This role focuses on providing technical reviews, guidance, and inputs, ensuring all designs meet current legislation, standards, and are fit for purpose.

Role Overview:
The Lead Infrastructure Engineer will provide design support across various infrastructure schemes, focusing on pipeline engineering. Reporting to both the Senior Design Manager (Engineering) and Principal Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in reviewing and accepting key project deliverables (e.g., drawings, models, calculations) across an entire programme area.
As a technical expert in clean or wastewater pipeline engineering design, you will uphold and maintain engineering standards while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation. You will also mentor junior engineers and offer technical leadership, ensuring quality and consistency in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with senior team members to ensure design quality, safety, and technical standards are upheld.
  • Review project designs, calculations, and drawings, ensuring compliance with technical and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead milestone design review meetings and provide technical input into CDM and commissioning strategies.
  • Address site design queries and change requests efficiently and effectively.
  • Support other discipline leads and engineers to meet time and quality standards.


2. Knowledge Management & Innovation

  • Maintain awareness of advancements in technical areas and share knowledge with the team.
  • Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies and processes.
  • Contribute to standard product forums and improve guidance documents and procedures.


3. Mentoring & Team Development

  • Mentor and develop team members, providing one-to-one guidance as needed.
  • Support engineers in establishing standard product drawings and procedures for broader use.


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven expertise in clean or wastewater pipeline engineering design.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards and legislation.
  • Ability to lead and mentor teams, ensuring consistent quality in deliverables.
  • Proficient in using design review tools and managing workflows in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
