FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for a Head of Commercial to lead, innovate, and deliver exceptional value in their ambitious and dynamic infrastructure delivery programme.

As Head of Commercial, you will lead the commercial strategy for a £600m-£750m, five-year business unit. Reporting to the Delivery or Commercial Director, you will oversee all aspects of the commercial function, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives while fostering collaboration, innovation, and value-driven outcomes.

Head of Commercial responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive performance and meet targets
  • Oversee commercial performance, ensuring effective cost assurance, KPI reporting, and governance
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless supply chain integration
  • Drive procurement innovation and optimize supply chain performance to achieve program goals
  • Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, care, and continuous improvement
  • Champion a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing across the team and supply chain

Head of Commercial requirements:

  • A degree and significant experience in senior leadership
  • Proven expertise in delivering construction or utilities projects and programs
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in contract management, procurement, and estimating
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Proven track record of leading successful teams and achieving strategic business objectives
  • Ability to drive innovation, improve processes, and deliver exceptional results
