Your new companyInternationally recognised construction company operating across multiple countries. Their projects span across multiple sectors including Commercial, Healthcare, Residential and Education delivering both new build projects and maintenance frameworksYour new roleReporting in to the Operations Manger they are looking for a Site Manager to work on a Healthcare project in the Peterborough area. These schemes involve a modular build and a fitout project.Some of the main responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of delivery to completion of an area/section of the construction site;
  • Co-ordinating subcontractor works and interfaces in this area;
  • Comment upon subcontractor RAMS and attend prestart meetings;
  • Ensure that subcontractors work to their method statements, good practices and that operatives on site abide by the site rules;
  • Create a safe working environment, controlling storage of materials, removal of waste and good housekeeping;
  • Take ownership of the programme and sequence, improve upon it if possible, monitor progress, report to subcontractors any shortcomings and address these;
  • Ensure works are to specified quality both materials and workmanship;
  • Attend (possibly chair) weekly/fortnightly subcontractor meetings to discuss programme, safety, quality and information;
  • Issue instructions to subcontractors via the commercial department where required, controlling costs of non-recoverable items;
  • Assist subcontractors with information requirements liaising with design and commercial departments, completing RFI's where necessary;
  • Record any items that may result in delay or additional non recoverable costs;
  • Report problems to line manager should you not be able to resolve yourself;
  • Supervise direct employed labour;
  • Ensure completed works are protected and/or secured;

What you'll need to succeed
