Construction Manager - Water InfrastructureLocation: East of England (hybrid working available)Salary: Competitive + package
A new opportunity is open for a Construction Manager to lead the site delivery of civil and MEICA works across water and wastewater schemes. You'll be responsible for managing site teams, ensuring safety, quality and time targets are met, and that the work aligns with wider programme goals.
This is a key leadership role focused on operational site management, while also taking ownership of health and safety compliance, environmental standards, and workforce planning.
The Role

Lead and manage a team of Site Managers and direct delivery staff across multiple sites

Take responsibility for delivering projects safely, on time, and to budget

Act as Principal Contractor under CDM, ensuring site compliance with regulations and internal policies

Review Construction Phase Plans and RAMS to make sure they are suitable and complete

Oversee the performance of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring safety and quality standards are met

Work closely with project delivery teams to support constructability reviews and planning

Identify risks, resource shortfalls, and delivery challenges early-take steps to resolve them quickly

Drive efficient ways of working on-site to reduce time, cost, and environmental impact

Support short-term and long-term labour and plant planning, escalating any issues as needed

Ensure all site staff and supply chain have correct training and certification

Contribute to customer satisfaction targets by reducing disruption and maintaining good communication

Ensure all contractual and commercial notices are raised in a timely way by the delivery teams
What We're Looking For

Solid background in managing site-based construction teams in the infrastructure sector

Experienced in acting as Principal Contractor under CDM
-
Good working knowledge of NEC contracts, HSE legislation, cost control, and programme delivery

Confident leader with strong people management skills and a practical, hands-on approach

Able to work across several projects and keep a clear focus on safety, time, and cost

Experience in the water industry is required

Full UK driving licence
Desirable

NEBOSH qualified
-
HNC or similar qualification in construction or engineering
