Our Alliance and our Strategic Framework Partners, Anglian Water use "alliancing models" to deliver much of its capital investment programme. Alliancing was seen and still is seen as an industry leading collaborative contracting arrangement which enabled several third-party contractors to work as one integrated delivery team.

Contractors embedded in our Alliancing culture work as part of multi-Contractor integrated teams such that each Contractor within an Alliance provide resources to collectively deliver projects. These teams also include Anglian Water employees who are also involved in the project delivery. The Contractors (and Anglian Water) work together to achieve a common goal.

As an ECC Project Manager, you will oversee the delivery of Contract Management and Administration services within our Tier 1 and Tier 2 Supply Chain. In this role, you will support Delivery teams by executing the NEC Contract ECC Project Manager and ECC Supervisor duties across the Supply Chain.

Your responsibilities will include identifying areas for improvement and implementing processes to enhance the commercial and contractual administration of our Frameworks. You will work closely with Business Units and Framework Users to ensure the application of strong Commercial and Contract Management practices.

A key aspect of this role is fostering a collaborative and proactive approach to Contract Management to facilitate efficient project delivery. You will play a crucial role in promoting a collaborative mindset within our Supply Chain, ensuring alignment with both Customer and Business objectives.

Additionally, you will support delivery teams and business units in optimizing supply chain efficiencies, driving outperformance, and encouraging a cooperative approach throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will be accountable for robust administration and execution of the NEC3 contracts across our Supply Chain (frameworks which utilise the NEC3 contract).

  • Responsible for the commercial and contractual administration across a number of our strategic frameworks.

  • You will support the Business Units/Framework Users with effective change control management practices.

  • You will support the Business Units/Framework Users with effective change control ensuring Compensation Events or Variations are administered correctly and in accordance with the contract provisions.

  • Provide active support to internal Business users with the operation and administration of the Frameworks including providing assurance on compliance Contractual Obligations and the NEC3 contracts or other Contract terms entered into under those frameworks

  • Support/Participate with Tier 2 Supplier performance reviews conducted monthly or periodically including implementation of any actions arising from such reviews.

  • Promote an open and honest culture amongst the team so that objectives and knowledge are shared in a collaborative environment.

What does it take to be successful?

  • HND or Degree in construction/engineering/science subject or equivalent experience

  • NEC3 or NEC 4 Project Manager Accreditation

  • Highly capable and experienced in commercial management.

  • Demonstrable project management knowledge and experience of a design and construction environment.

  • Demonstrable working knowledge of the NEC contract and its application.

  • Significant experience of commercially managing Construction Contracts across the utility or construction sector.

  • Demonstrable experience of dispute resolution and mediation

  • Experience of Team Management
