Credit Controller

We are looking for a meticulous and professional Credit Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring due diligence and proper authorisation levels are applied to the opening and continued operation of all credit accounts. This role requires adherence to established procedures that maintain accounting control.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Accurately and promptly deal with customer queries and record them.
  • Allocate cash receipts to invoices accurately and promptly, aiming to keep over 60 days UAC to a negligible level.
  • Maintain credit control procedures to keep debtor levels to a minimum, with over 90 days debt being less than 2% of total.
  • File paperwork accurately in a tidy and organised manner.
  • Reconcile nominal accounts on s daily or monthly as required.
  • Ensure receipts are properly recorded and banked daily.
  • Achieve all deadlines set by manager and plan ahead to make the best use of available time.
  • Adhere strictly to the company’s health and safety procedures and other policy directives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and company financial policies.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to document and log all accounting transactions in a methodical and structured manner.
  • Strong communication skills to develop and maintain professional working relationships.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond positively to situations which affect planned activities.
  • Professional conduct and appearance at all times.
  • Punctuality and the ability to react calmly in unplanned situations.
  • Willingness to attend Group training and development courses/activities.
