Data Analyst - Graduate - Peterborough

Data Analyst with analytical skills in Python, R or SQL is required by a major Peterborough based organisation. You should be able to query and maintain databases and have the ability to analyse, organise and present numerical data. They will look at recent graduates for this role.

They are looking for a passionate data analyst with either some commercial experience or with academic experience through a numerical degree. Any SAS or MicroStrategy experience would be a bonus, but are non-essential. The main criteria are that you have an analytical mind, excellent communication skills, and a strong background in Excel and either Python, R, or SQL. They are looking for a highly numerical and analytical individual with a degree-level education, who is eager to learn and develop within the company, and is comfortable asking questions.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related numerical-based subject
  • Experience within data analysis (data matching, interpretation, number crunching) though this can come from your degree or commercial work experience
  • Excellent Excel skills, and data orientated experience with at least one of: Python, R, or SQL
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Analytical mindset

*Full training will be provided on SAS including the chance to sit SAS exams*

This is a very exciting and diverse role within in a fantastic organisation. You will join a team of 6 analysts to work on a number of exciting analytical projects. You must have excellent analysis ability, be able to come up with ideas, and you will be involved in the decision-making process. The role will involve being responsible for reviewing and measuring the quality of data received from their data suppliers, and using various data quality and reporting tools, with potential to expand into predictive modelling and forecast creations. This role is based in Peterborough, and they offer hybrid working with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home. My client is looking to pay a starting salary between £28,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience) + Benefits.
