The successful CAD engineer will be in an engineering connection within departments at the company and have an extensive CAD background.

CAD Engineer Job Overview

  • Oversee the complete design lifecycle, from idea through to prototyping and ensure adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
  • A hands-on approach. prototyping, testing, and iterating in a physical form to refine and improve designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, manufacturing, and operations to integrate design concepts seamlessly.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors' products.
  • Instil a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to explore new materials, technologies, and design methods.
  • Establish and enforce design standards and guidelines to ensure the highest level of quality and consistency across all projects.
  • Conduct regular design reviews to stay ahead of the trend and provide constructive feedback to ensure the team's growth and development.
  • Effectively communicate design concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

CAD Engineer Job Requirements

  • Degree in Automotive Design, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD design software, ideally Solidworks.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful design projects.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Good level of written and verbal communication.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Peterborough.

CAD Engineer Salary & Benefits

  • Salary - £33,000 to £36,000 - dependent upon experience, skill and qualifications.
  • Full time position - Monday to Friday.
