Business Analyst
Location: UK based
Role Purpose:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our team, who will work closely with business stakeholders and Agile IT development teams to deliver suitable solutions for end users and support business goals by overseeing projects, understanding current business status, documenting needs, and collaborating on suitable solutions including tech upgrades, process improvements, training, and more.
Responsibilities involve gathering, prioritizing, tracking, and documenting requirements, user stories, business rules, and cost/benefit analysis.
The role also includes modelling current and future business processes, conducting root cause analysis and other necessary activities for project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex business and systems analysis for strategic initiatives and IT system problems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and development teams to gather and prioritize requirements.
- Evaluate processes and systems, make improvement recommendations.
- Lead project scoping and impact assessments for management planning.
- Ensure alignment of requirements with business objectives.
- Document risks and opportunities to support project justification.
- Maintain requirement traceability for project success.
- Assist technology teams in resolving defects efficiently.
- Conduct feasibility studies and contribute to procurement processes.
- Support testing and quality standards adherence.
- Stay updated on best practices and recommend process improvements.
- Help define and enforce business analysis standards.
- Manage risks and dependencies and support issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with quality principles and security measures.
- Safeguard information and promote whistleblower procedures.
- Invest in professional development and mentor team members.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions.
- Prioritize confidentiality and undertake additional responsibilities as needed.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience within Financial Services
- Experience undertaking business analysis activity at a project level working with senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of and experience with Agile business analysis approaches.
- Experience in documenting and managing requirements in a user story format.
- Experience of analysing and documenting complex operational processes and business requirements.
- Ablity to work effectively across multiple change projects/incidents or change activities simultaneously.
- Effective stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to think analytically, to deal with detail, and to extract and present relevant information concisely.
- Ability to think creatively and generate innovative solutions.
- Highly self-motivated.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
