Commercial Administrator – Maternity Cover

Location: Hampton, Peterborough

Salary: Competitive

They are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Commercial Administrator to join their dynamic Commercial team. This role involves managing payments, particularly for subcontractors, while providing essential administrative and commercial support. The ideal candidate will have experience in a payment or finance-related role, and an understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), and VAT implications. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments, particularly related to subcontractors.
  • Provide crucial support to the Commercial Team, including cost monitoring, data management, and document processing.
  • Manage and maintain filing systems and databases to ensure accurate and efficient record-keeping.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external contacts to facilitate a smooth flow of information and support effective project management.
  • Assist with a range of administrative duties to support the efficiency and success of the Commercial department. Assist with additional ad hoc duties and provide administrative support within the Group or Region, as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in a payment or finance-related role, with some exposure to subcontracting work.
  • An understanding of VAT & CIS preferable but not essential.
  • Strong administrative skills, with proficiency in MS Office programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset, with a supportive and team-oriented approach.
