Engine Electronic Systems Engineer - Peterborough (Hybrid) - Up to £36/hr - Inside IR35

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping one of the world’s leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines find an Engine Electronic Systems Engineer, and the hybrid role comes with a contract rate of £36.00 per hour.

The Team is responsible for the development and implementation of electrical and electronic control systems for powertrains developed by our client in the UK.

This role is for the primary technical support for the Engine Electronic system. It will entail proactively working with other Electronics team members and with development partners, on the complete product development lifecycle of Development prior to production through to post-production maintenance to:

  • Participate in the definition of the system architecture and related diagrams and schematics.
  • Participate in the selection of suitable Electronic components.
  • Participate in the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and validation activities for the Electronic system and components. Maintaining & improve validation test plans.
  • Provide technical support to queries related to pinouts, schematic questions and software functionality support.
  • Investigate /Analyse / troubleshoot any reported quality issues.

  • Electronics related Degree, or HNC Level + detailed experience.
  • Detailed understanding of electronic engine systems.
  • Electronic systems knowledge – Proven methodical fault-finding and Validation capability during development and post production.
  • Electronic systems design – requirements, documenting and FMEA.
  • Defining Electronic features and coordinating the development of them with other teams.
  • Microsoft Office, and other tools including CANape & CANalyzer. Knowledge of Teamcenter.
