We are looking for an Engine Electronics Engineer to assist in the design, develop, testing of new drive trains for an international company based in Cambridgeshire. The successful applicant will also supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, and systems for commercial, industrial, military or scientific power trains. It's a varied role with great opportunity to be involved with standard as well as new concepts in electric & hydrogen power sources. Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.
  • Evaluate the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain design models.
  • Estimate time and cost for the completion of projects.
  • Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation.
  • Investigate and test vendor's and competitor's products.

Education/Experience & Skills required

  • Bachelor's degree in electronics or HNC level with detailed experience.
  • Electronic systems design - requirements, documenting and FMEA
  • Defining electronic features and coordinating the development of them with other teams.
  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Basic leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
  • Ability to perform details calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications.
  • Ability to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field.
  • IT Tools:- MS Office, CANape, CANalyzer & Teamcenter

The contract on offer:-

  • Rate:- £25.60-26.60 per hour PAYE
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 BH
  • 2 weeks notice by either party
  • 5 days a week 8:30-15:45 Mon - Thurs, 8:30-16:15 Friday - 37 hours per week.
  • 12 months contract with the option to renew.
  • Hybrid working. Fully on site at beginning with flexibility once proven capable and client relationship is built to three days on site and two at home.
