About the Role
You will work on multiple electronic system projects, focusing on the design, development, and validation of electrical and electronic systems to meet both regulatory and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in defining system architecture and producing diagrams and schematics.
- Select suitable electronic components and participate in failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
- Develop and refine validation test plans for systems and components.
- Provide technical support, addressing queries related to pinouts, schematics, and software functionality.
- Investigate and troubleshoot reported quality issues.
- Perform system verification testing of components and software features.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Degree-qualified engineer with a strong foundation in systems engineering activities, or HNC/NVQ Level 4 with relevant experience.
- Proven experience in electronic system integration, including fault finding and design at signal levels (e.g., PWM, analog, communication signals).
- Expertise in defining electronic features, creating technical specifications, and coordinating development.
- Familiarity with internal combustion engine control systems.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively within local and global teams.
Desirable Skills and Competencies:
- Experience with off-highway electronic control systems or comparable industries (e.g., automotive, marine, military).
- Knowledge of engine systems, such as fuel and air systems.
- Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Teamcenter).
- Experience with CAN protocols and tools like CANape and CANalyzer.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, PPAP, and FMEA facilitation.
Ideal Candidate Background:
You may come from industries such as automotive, off-highway machinery, marine, aeronautical, or military equipment development. Experience with leading OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or specialist engineering firms is highly valued.
