Senior Metallurgist Engineer - Peterborough

PAYE / Umbrella Rates Available

We're looking for a Materials/ Metallurgist Engineer to provide support to our clients national and global facilities. Working at this global OEM, every day presents a new challenge where you will investigate a wide range of different materials that are used in multiple applications.

So if you’re a team player, are self-driven and have experience in a Materials Laboratory environment we would love to hear from you!

Key areas of responsibility for you as a Senior Metallurgist Engineer;

  • ‎Resolving issues regarding the design or manufacturing. Ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness.
  • ‎Participating in the adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement.
  • ‎Planning and improving testing procedures and operations to make the test more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective.
  • ‎Monitoring results, machine and process capabilities and performance reliability.

This will mean that you need:-

  • Materials Science/Metallurgy degree and/or substantive practical working experience within a materials laboratory environment
  • Metallurgical / materials evaluation of new products, processes and or systems
  • Providing technical guidance on product and process maintenance
  • Ability to Identify metallurgical / materials manufacturing defects and make process improvement recommendations
