Accounts Manager Peterborough Hybrid Salary £45,000 - £50,000

Butler Rose is excited to represent a well-established accountancy firm in Peterborough seeking a proactive and skilled Accounts Manager to join their busy team. The successful candidate will work closely with the directors and lead the accounts team to deliver exceptional service. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, offering the chance to make a real impact within a supportive and dedicated team.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients including limited companies, LLP's, sole traders, personal tax and HNW individuals.
  • Key point of contact for clients and dealing with their queries
  • Reviewing accounts for Limited Company, LLPs, partnership and sole trader accounts and clearing review points
  • Personal and business tax computations alongside tax planning and remuneration planning for SMEs.
  • Calculation of quarterly instalment payments
  • Reviewing management accounts and associated discussions with clients
  • Reviewing VAT returns and submissions.
  • Responsibility for job allocation and job completion, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Attending meetings with clients both in the office and travelling to client's premises
  • Working confidently with various accounting software and computer packages such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks.
  • Assisting team members with technical queries and personal development
  • Develop new client relationships and maintain existing client relationships
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities for clients
  • Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients where necessary.
  • Working closely with clients and providing them with advice to ensure that they are running their businesses effectively and profitably is key to how our business operates.

Personal Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within a practice environment
  • Previous managerial or supervisor experience is necessary for this role.
  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • A broad knowledge of entrepreneurial type clients and issues facing owner managed businesses and understanding their accountancy needs
  • An in depth, technical knowledge and experience of Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and other accounting software.
  • Well organised with a high attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • A focus on client care and retention.
  • An appetite to develop and advance your skills, keeping up with the latest technical advances.
  • High attention to detail with strong time management and organisation skills
  • Able to prioritise effectively and work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach
  • Highly personable and approachable with excellent communication skills
  • Work closely with the directors to mentor and supervise the team.
  • Strong technical, communication, organisational, and people management skills.
