Join a prestigious company operating across the UK.  As an Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our accounting standards and supervising the accounts payable team to ensure efficiency and compliance with our financial policies.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounts payable clerks, providing necessary guidance, training, and support to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Oversee the closing of accounts payable ledgers timely and assist with the posting of month-end information.
  • Ensure the timely processing of payments for company invoices, including daily transactions and employee expenses.
  • Conduct monthly supplier statement reconciliations and maintain accurate records.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Provide leadership and support to the accounts payable team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Assist with auditing tasks and the preparation of financial reports to support the wider accounting function.
  • Regularly report on accounts payable performance metrics and provide analysis to aid decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies to uphold financial integrity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in an account's payable leadership role, preferably within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, assign tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong team development and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service orientation with a focus on building professional relationships.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems relevant to accounts payable management.
