Health and Safety Advisor – Civils/Highways - Peterborough

About the Role
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will report directly to the SHEQ Lead assisting in the development and implementation of Health and Safety protocols across various construction and highways sites. You will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with SHEQ legislation and industry best practices.
Location
This position involves site visits across the region. You will need a full UK driving license, as travel is required, but it is not excessive.
Key Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Health and Safety role within the construction or civils sector
- NEBOSH General (or ideally Construction) Certificate (or equivalent) and a solid understanding of SHEQ legislation and industry standards

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in the development and continuous review of site-specific Health and Safety plans
- Conduct site inspections and attend Site Review Meetings to ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Assist in identifying, managing, and mitigating SHE risks and issues across various projects
- Develop and maintain site-specific audit and inspection packs to ensure thorough safety monitoring
- Ensure that non-compliance reports from internal and external audits are addressed, with corrective actions completed in a timely manner
- Audit minor works carried out across sites as required

- Stay updated on the latest SHE legislation, best practices, and developments within the health and safety industry
- Manage your availability across multiple sites, ensuring the right level of governance and support is consistently provided
- Maintain a proactive, engaging, and positive attitude towards promoting SHE excellence within the organization
