Carbon60 are currently looking for a Lubriction Technician to join a client of ours based in Peterborough on the McCains site. This position is a 3 month contract.


Working Hours/Shift Pattern:
08:00am - 17:00pm Mon-Friday
Rest Breaks: 2 x 15 minutes (paid), Lunchbreak - 1 hour (unpaid), 40 hours/week


Role Responsibilities:

  • Carry out daily lubrication regime as per defined asset database routes.
  • Deliver lubrication know-how using techniques and methodologies to optimize regime.
  • Carry out first line maintenance activities, assessing and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Liaise with the client regarding lubrication issues as identified during day-to-day duties.
  • Carrying out repairs and modifications to issues found whilst carrying out lubrication duties as required in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assisting with lubrication training of the client's operational personnel as and when required.
  • Reporting asset defects to the client and entering notifications on the client's ERP system.


About You:

  • Knowledge & experience of mechanical systems and lubrication or worked in similar engineering roles.
  • Must have GCSE in maths/English and strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of IT software packages, including Microsoft Office and web-based systems.
  • An apprenticeship is desirable (mechanically biased even more so) but if they have a genuine interest in engineering and a willingness to learn they will not be discounted if they don't have an apprenticeship.
  • Knowledge of reliability practices and root cause analysis (desirable but not essential).


There are opportunities to develop in this role once training and proficiency in the lubrication role are met, in that you will be working very closely with the condition monitoring technician on site throughout. You could progress into any desired avenues in the wide sector of 'reliability engineering' such as condition monitoring.
