Satis Education are recruiting! We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Interim Headteacher with a strong background in SEND to join our client school in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support a passionate team in a school that prides itself on fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

As Interim Headteacher, you will take overall responsibility for the strategic leadership, management, and direction of the school, ensuring that students with SEND receive high-quality education and care. Your leadership will drive improvement and innovation in SEND provision while maintaining a focus on safeguarding and student well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the school in accordance with its vision and values.
  • Oversee the delivery of SEND provision, ensuring high standards of teaching and support for students with additional needs.
  • Work closely with the governing body to ensure compliance with all relevant educational policies and regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the continuous improvement of SEND outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and external agencies to promote a holistic approach to SEND education.
  • Ensure the effective management of resources, staffing, and budget within the SEND department.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development for staff working with SEND pupils.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a SEND setting.
  • A comprehensive understanding of SEND legislation, strategies, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and improving outcomes for SEND pupils.
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and/or relevant leadership qualifications.
