An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join the team as a Senior Health and Safety Consultant. Reporting directly to the Associate Director Head of Health and Safety, this role will involve providing expert, relevant, and practical health and safety guidance to our diverse client base, spanning sectors such as education, healthcare, construction, retail, and aviation.

Salary and Benefits

This role is ideal for a professional looking to grow their career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within an established consultancy that serves a broad range of clients across multiple industries. The role will e homebased with travel required to cover the M1 corridor from Nottingham to London.

Key Skills and Experience:
  • NEBOSH Diploma (preferred) or equivalent NVQ
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or relevant construction experience
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety or Fire Manager Advanced Certificate (membership of IFE preferred)
  • Proven experience in fire risk assessments and fire strategy (preferred)
  • Membership of IOSH (minimum Tech IOSH, Chartered preferred)
  • Training qualification (desirable), with experience in delivering IOSH Managing Safely (MS) and Working Safely (WS) courses
  • Consultancy experience is essential
  • Strong understanding of the construction and built environment sectors (FM/estates)
  • Solid corporate health and safety experience, including developing and implementing Health & Safety Management Systems
  • SHE audit experience
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations, with experience acting as Principal Designer, PD Advisor, or CDM Advisor
  • Experience conducting workplace audits and construction site inspections (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively contribute in client meetings
  • Client-facing, with strong interpersonal skills and a client-centric approach
  • Ability to produce professional, well-written reports with strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong time-management and organizational abilities, including management of personal workload and deadlines
  • Business development experience
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Must hold a valid driving license and be willing to travel across the UK
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert health and safety advice and support to clients across the Estates, FM, Retail, Education, Healthcare, and Construction sectors
  • Conduct health and safety audits and construction site inspections
  • Assist with the production of Health and Safety documentation for clients, including risk assessments and reviewing safety documentation
  • Support clients with accident and incident investigations
  • Contribute to design team discussions, review designs, and identify significant hazards
  • Prepare high-quality, professional reports for clients
  • Play an active role in business development and client account management
  • Perform general administrative tasks as required
