Contracts Engineer

Provectus Recruitment are currently partnered with a leading manufacturing organisation in the UK, that design & manufacture large-scale rotating machinery, used for power generation.

This is a business that has manufactured rotating power-gen equipment for many years. They are currently going through a period of cultural change & modernisation, as well as driving technical innovation within the power-gen sector. A business that has a very established brand & some of the most reliable and efficient power-generation equipment there is to offer.

Due to ambitious growth plans, we are looking for a Contracts Engineer, that will be the focal point within the business for managing delivery of aftermarket parts and spares to the customer.

Key Responsibilities

The focus of this role, will be to manage the spare part supply contracts, ensuring timely delivery of assigned parts to the end customer.

  • Manage spare part supply contracts of engineered parts associated with heavy machinery.
  • Proactively manage costs & project margins for parts manufactured (in-house and external)
  • Assess received orders and identify the full scope of supply
  • Work closely with design, manufacturing, procurement and project manage parts through the process
  • Work closely with quality, ensuring requirements are planned and achieved
  • Liaise with colleagues to resolve issues on contract conditions and financial requirements
  • Manage technical and commercial information for parts contracts
  • Seek opportunities to offer additional products
  • Issue contract documentation
  • Ensure ERP data is updated

The ideal candidate

This role would suit someone that is mechanically minded as well as academically trained. Someone that is working in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment & has an appreciation of things such as technical drawings, design, costing, scheduling, project management.

This role Is within a fast-paced department of the business, thus the ability to work independently is paramount, as well as the drive to deliver, identify new opportunities and be proactive when managing spare parts contracts.

  • Mechanical qualification (HND or equivalent)
  • Experience working within heavy engineering or manufacturing
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes with machined products
  • Experience with tendering, costing or general financial knowledge in engineering
  • Ideally fluent with Microsoft office & ERP & CRM systems.
  • Eye for detail, ability to handle large amount of complex data to optimum efficiency.
