Hours: 39 hours per week
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated HGV Technician to join our team in Peterborough. This role offers a competitive salary of up to 40,000 per annum, with early and late shifts scheduled from Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy goods vehicles to ensure safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:
    • Perform routine servicing and scheduled maintenance on HGVs.
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults effectively.
    • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to ensure accurate troubleshooting.
  • MOT Preparation:
    • Prepare vehicles for MOT tests, ensuring they meet all required standards.
    • Carry out pre-MOT inspections and rectify identified issues.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Complete all job cards, maintenance logs, and service records accurately.
    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with team members to ensure smooth operations during shifts.
    • Liaise with the Workshop Manager to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Customer Service:
    • Communicate professionally with customers as needed, addressing concerns effectively.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of HGV safety and compliance regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid HGV license is advantageous but not mandatory.
