Shifts: Monday - Friday days with an early finish on a Friday at 1pm

Our client in Peterborough is looking for a Saw Operative with general engineering skills to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is Monday - Friday days with an early finish on a Friday and if you like overtime there is plenty available all paid at a premium!
The client designs and manufactures balustrades and staircases all bespoke and made to order predominantly sitting within the structural and construction industry. The role itself will involve cutting and shaping metal using a variety of saws, bending machines, presses and manual machines. The ideal candidate will come from an engineering background, be familiar with working to engineering drawings and must be able to use measuring tools. This role will involve running the manual machine shop ensuring health and safety procedures are followed and any parts are ordered in as and when required.
Essential Skills / Experience
Must have an engineering background
Be competent using a band saw
Must be able to use measuring tools
Ideally will have experience bending, forming and shaping metal
Worked with a variety of metals including stainless, aluminium and mild steel
Confident working from engineering drawings
Tube bending / automated saw experience would be advantageous
Experience ordering parts would be beneficial
