About the role:

As a Sales Representative, you will provide quotations for New Business and be a referral point for the Trainees. The role requires dealing with clients in the branch for the Clegg Gifford brand, over the phone and via e-mail to ensure sales and retention targets are maximised, through the provision of efficient communication & negotiation skills.

Based out of one of the following offices:

  • Birmingham
  • Brentwood
  • Peterborough
  • Colchester 

You will:

  • Provide excellent customer service and efficiently generate new business in a target-driven environment.
  • Answer and handle phone calls promptly and efficiently.
  • Calculate premiums according to insurance carrier guidelines.
  • Understand and follow processes to offer suitable product quotations.
  • Ensure product information is clear and allows informed customer decisions.
  • Validate client details (e.g., ID, driving license, claims history) for submission to underwriters.
  • Manage leads and schedule follow-up calls using CRM software to meet sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
  • Attend client meetings as needed.
  • Contribute to team goals by identifying gaps and upselling.

About you:

  • Strong communicator, able to explain complex insurance terms clearly to clients and insurers.
  • In-depth understanding of the UK insurance market, including trends, risks, and regulations.
  • Skilled at assessing diverse client needs, industry risks, and business goals.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and motivating in your approach to work.
  • Experience in a broking or underwriting environment.
  • Cert CII qualification is a plus.
