My Client is currently looking to recruit EVENTS CATERING ASSISTANTS, these will be Freelance/Zero Hour Contracts. You will be working within a team in an already well established and busy outdoor catering facility.
This is a customer facing role, therefore you must be of a friendly and cheery disposition with great communication skills.
Ideally, you must already be experienced in cooking, as you will be required to cook hot breakfasts and prepare and produce hot and cold sandwiches as takeaway food. All food will be cooked to a very high standard, high volume, at a very fast pace to a variety of customers.
Hot food is produced at speed using a griddle/hotplate, therefore, you must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
You must be able to do basic arithmetic as you will be responsible for taking payment from customers in a cash environment and therefore ensuring the accurate money is charged and accurate change is given. You will be responsible for producing handwritten labels for products and customer names that are ordered for bulk delivery on our vans.
The ideal candidate will need to be trustworthy and reliable in an environment where quality and attention to detail is imperative in a very busy working environment. You must be able to work with all food types.
These will will Freelance/Zero Hour Contracts. The required hours are dependant on the Event, however, times can be negotiable along with the required days.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Cooking food on a griddle
- Preparing cold sandwich fillings
- Packing and wrapping
- Preparing hot drinks
- Producing takeaway food accurately but quickly
- Cash handling
- Writing labels and producing bulk orders
- Working on a Street Catering Van in all weathers
- Flexibility in hours (weekends & evening event depending)
- Cleaning the area throughout and at the end of the day
