Our client is a largefood ingredients manufacturer who are looking for a Shift Engineer to provide a pro-active approach to the maintenance &prevention of equipment failure and ensure the scheduled PM is carried out as planned.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring quality, waste and efficiency targets are met by working as an integral part of the manufacturing team while following company Health & Safety procedures at all times

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of factory equipment, both mechanical and electrical according to routine maintenance schedule.
  • Following and completing Jobs log during shift.
  • Following MVP (CMMS) system and making sure it is kept updated.
  • Repair of equipment.
  • Liaising with production to minimise downtime caused by engineering tasks.
  • Installation and commissioning of equipment.
  • Preparation of die plates and blades for extruders.
  • Maintenance of building fabric.
  • Managing tasks assigned.
  • Assisting external contractors whilst onsite.
  • Completing agreed assigned projects.
  • Ensuring all required statutory training is up to date before carrying out relevant tasks.
  • Attending training courses as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous food processing industry experience highly desirable
  • Electrical and/or mechanical qualifications/time served apprenticeship.
  • 2 Years experience of working in an automated production environment.
  • A good standard of both written and oral English
  • Basic Food Hygiene
  • Basic Health & Safety
  • Data and analytical skills
  • Computer literate. (word/excel/windows based packages)
  • Desirable skills : PLC, pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature control ,instrumentation, welding, FLT license
