Job Title: Account Manager

Location: Peterborough (office)

Salary Range: OTE in the region of £35k (negotiable depending on experience) including commission and bonuses

Contract Type: Permanent

Our client, a well-established, growing, family-run SME based in Peterborough, is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join their sales team. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing 100+ accounts, focusing on the 'bronze and silver' accounts, building and developing strong relationships with customers, and ensuring exceptional service.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated and driven individual with a hunger for success. You will be responsible for growing existing accounts by increasing share of wallet and introducing new products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the point of contact for dedicated customers' inquiries
  • Build and develop rapport with dedicated accounts, addressing customer needs and concerns promptly
  • Handle incoming sales inquiries via phone and email, identifying opportunities and securing orders
  • Negotiate and close contracts with existing and new clients
  • Monitor clients' budgets, explain cost details, and discuss terms of business
  • Upsell and cross-sell products, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their satisfaction with products and services

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with technical or complex information
  • Sales experience, exceeding targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience within the construction/joinery industry is desirable but not essential
