Job Title: Production Manager
Salary: Up to 31,000 per annum
Location: Peterborough
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working hours: 40 hours per week, up to 48 hours per week in busy periods. The business operates 2 shift patterns (see below) weekly working hours for this role will be agreed at interview.

Shift patterns:
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Production Manager to oversee and enhance the efficiency of our clients production team and processes. The ideal candidate will have management experience within a manufacturing or warehouse environment, possess strong leadership skills, and be capable of driving continuous improvement across the production process. This is a key role in supporting the company's objectives, ensuring high standards of quality and productivity, and managing the effective scheduling of jobs.

Main Duties:

  • Ensure all production staff meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and continuously improve production staff, processes, and equipment to align with business growth and demand.
  • Ensure optimal scheduling of all jobs, maximising resource.
  • Drive the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles within the company.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyse the performance of production staff, identifying areas for improvement to maintain efficiency.
  • Evaluate production machinery performance and recommend upgrades, replacements, or new equipment when necessary.
  • Identify and deliver training to production staff to meet evolving company requirements and improve productivity.
  • Support senior management in achieving company targets and operational goals.
  • Work closely with Customer Services and Account Managers to resolve customer-related issues and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate employee records on HR Partner and ensure updates are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide cross-departmental support to Pre Press, Printing, Finishing, and Despatch departments when required.
  • Identify and resolve quality variances, ensuring that all products meet customer satisfaction standards.
  • Ensure all production plan tasks are completed within the agreed-upon time frames.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures, identifying any deviations and proposing solutions.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment within both the factory and office areas.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety guidelines.

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team within a production or manufacturing environment, with strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various departments.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach to task completion.
  • Competence in IT and the use of IT systems (training provided on internal systems).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow and deliver and set clear instructions and expectations.
  • Print production experience would be very beneficial but not essential.

Desirable Training/Experience:

  • Experience in operating production equipment/machinery (in-house training will be provided).
  • First Aid Certification.
  • Fire Safety training.
  • Experience in the moving and handling of goods.
