ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Gas Engineer / Plumbing and Heating Engineer, you will play a vital role in our client's operations, providing exceptional service and technical expertise directly in customers' homes. Your role will involve not only solving complex heating and plumbing issues but also building trust and strong relationships with clients. You will collaborate with the team to overcome challenges and ensure that customers receive top-notch service and satisfaction.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Plumbing Installation and Maintenance:

  • Install, maintain, and repair a variety of plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, and fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers, etc.).
  • Conduct leak detection and repair, ensuring all plumbing installations meet regulatory standards.

Heating System Installation and Maintenance:

  • Install, maintain, and repair domestic gas appliances, including boilers, cookers, and gas fires.
  • Conduct regular inspections and servicing of heating systems to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Diagnosing faults and issues in gas systems
  • Repairing faulty gas appliances, boilers, and heating systems
  • Conducting gas safety checks and issuing Gas Safety Certificates (CP12)
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations, including the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations.

Customer Interaction:

  • Engage with customers to assess their plumbing and heating needs, providing clear explanations of work required and solutions available.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through effective communication and exceptional customer service.

Technical Expertise:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in plumbing and heating systems, utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Perform safety checks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., Gas Safety Regulations).

Documentation:

  • Complete necessary paperwork, including service reports and compliance documents, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Maintain records of installations and repairs carried out.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work alongside fellow engineers to share knowledge and solutions to technical challenges.
  • Provide support and mentorship to junior team members when needed.

Tool and Equipment Management:

  • Maintain personal tools, including combustion analysers, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Report any faulty equipment or tools to management promptly.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Plumbing and Heating.
  • CCN1 Domestic Gas Safety qualification for boilers, cookers, and gas fires (required).
  • Level 2 Plumbing certification (preferred).
  • Valid UK Drivers Licence (no more than 3 points).
  • Strong communication skills for daily customer interactions.
  • LPG ticket (desirable).
