The Opportunity:Due to continued investment in our Planning Service, we are seeking a motivated Planning Officer to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting the Council's goal of delivering high-quality development efficiently.

Planning Officer's Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse caseload of planning applications, from householder to small-scale major projects.
• Assist Principal Planners with significant projects, such as city centre developments and urban extensions.
• Mentor and support less experienced officers, ensuring high-quality design standards.
• Participate in service improvement initiatives to enhance overall performance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in development delivery.
• Degree in planning or a related field.
• Strong communication, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven track record in handling householder and minor planning applications.
