As our PR Specialist, you'll oversee the reputation of a housing organisation. If you are a confident PR professional who's as equally happy seeking out positive opportunities to raise corporate profiles as you are forecasting and responding to risk, this role is for you.

The Key Responsibilities of the PR specialist include:

  • Utilising excellent copywriting skills to create quality content for multiple channels including press releases, award entries, case studies, thought-leadership pieces and news stories for the website.
  • Building relationships with teams across the organisation to identify areas of opportunity and risk.
  • Managing media relationships including pitching proactive news stories to press.
  • Managing the Press Office for the organisation and responding to enquiries in a timely and effective manner.
  • Responding to corporate risk through media monitoring, positioning, sector scanning and planning for crisis scenarios.
  • Monitoring media and external events to map and respond appropriately to relevant public affairs.
  • Developing key external stakeholder relationships where necessary (e.g. investors, media contacts).
  • Working on campaigns from concept through to completion, using a test and learn approach to adapt as appropriate to ensure success.
  • Working closely with the wider Communications and Public Affairs team to ensure consistent messaging across all channels and to various audiences.

The successful PR specialist will have:

  • Sound PR and media relations experience with a strong understanding of how to navigate the media landscape.
  • Demonstratable crisis management and recovery experience and proven experience of managing reputational risk issues with national, regional, local and trade media. Experience of managing a Press Office, with ability to manage media enquiries and write statements
  • A proactive person, who seeks out success stories to amplify our social purpose and promote our achievements, outcomes and contribution to the communities where we work
  • Experienced copywriter with an eye for detail and the ability to work creatively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create quality content across the stakeholder mix via multiple channels including media releases, award entries, case studies, storytelling and thought-leadership pieces
  • Strong working knowledge of external affairs, political engagement and influencing at local and national level.
