Tier 2 Main Contractor

Are you a skilled Quantity Surveyor looking for your next challenge? Join a dynamic and well-established Tier 2 main contractor based in Peterborough. Our client specialises in delivering exceptional projects across the commercial, industrial, and public sectors, with values ranging from £3m to £30m. This is a great chance to build upon your experience and work on varied and bespoke projects.

You’ll be part of a forward-thinking team, managing JCT, Design & Build (D&B), and NEC contracts, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality projects.

Responsibilities:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a pivotal role in project success. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Cost Management: Accurately forecast, monitor, and control project budgets.
  2. Tendering and Procurement: Prepare tender documents and manage the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
  3. Valuations: Conduct regular valuations, including progress claims and final accounts.
  4. Contract Administration: Manage contracts under JCT, D&B, and NEC forms, ensuring compliance and resolving disputes.
  5. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial and contractual risks.
  6. Variation Management: Assess, value, and negotiate variations to ensure profitability.
  7. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain strong relationships.
  8. Site Visits: Conduct site visits to ensure cost and quality alignment with project goals.
  9. Reporting: Prepare detailed cost reports and present updates to the project team and stakeholders.
  10. Value Engineering: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
