They are a leading housing Group across the Midlands & East of England, committed to enhancing communities and improving the lives of both their colleagues and customers. With a mission to provide quality, safe, affordable housing that build great foundations for their customers, their Lettings team are critical to supporting customers to finalise their tenancy agreements with the Group, and then reallocating the property to their future customers.

As a Lettings Advisor, you will be helping to allocate properties and deliver a detailed and tailored pre-tenancy package to new customers. Further key responsibilities are listed below:

  • Arrange, and conduct pre-tenancy interviews for customers who have been provisionally allocated to one of their homes.

  • Process succession, assignment and mutual exchange applications in line with policies and procedures.

  • Manage and comply with all timescales, always looking to minimise the time taken to re-let their homes and reduce void costs.

  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as Local Authority Lettings and Nominations Schemes to re-advertise and allocate their empty homes.

  • Hold potentially difficult conversations with our customers in line with their lettings policy.

  • In order to be successful in application for our Lettings Advisor role, you will have excellent knowledge of IT applications (e.g. Microsoft Office), some understanding of social housing, you will be organised, able to prioritise workload and work with internal and external partners to deliver an efficient letting service.

Their Lettings Advisor role operates in a hybrid capacity, contracted to 36.25 hours per week. To them, this means a minimum of 1 day p/week spent in either their Rushden or Peterborough offices for collaboration with colleagues across the Group, with the remainder of the week working from home (subject to business needs - they are open to discussion around how this is built into working weeks).

Vetting Requirements

Naturally working with their customers they need to complete pre-employment checks before you join them. This role is conditional upon receipt of two satisfactory references (one from your current employer). They also need you to tell them what you have been up to as a minimum over the past 5 years in terms of employment history.
