Role Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Compliance Manager to ensure our client organization operates within regulatory frameworks, meets customer expectations, and adheres to industry standards. This position focuses on managing Quality Management Systems, Health & Safety, and compliance with BRCGS Storage & Distribution Standards within a temperature-controlled warehouse environment for FMCG products. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in creating, implementing, and maintaining procedures, policies, and protocols to uphold and improve compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about compliance legislation related to BRCGS, temperature-controlled environments, and FMCG.
- Develop and enforce procedures to ensure legal, regulatory, and customer adherence.
- Provide expert advice to senior management and staff on legislative updates and best practices.
BRC Standards:
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with BRCGS Storage & Distribution Standards and customer requirements.
- Lead external audits and inspections to meet or exceed necessary standards.
Quality Management:
- Investigate quality or integrity issues, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Working Procedures (SWPs) for temperature-controlled FMCG operations.
- Maintain comprehensive records of incidents and deviations, reporting to stakeholders within required timeframes.
Health & Safety:
- Conduct and manage risk assessments for equipment, tasks, and processes.
- Investigate incidents, ensuring implementation of corrective actions.
- Deliver compliance, health, and safety training, and manage fire safety and first aid systems.
- Administer staff inductions to ensure awareness of compliance and safety requirements.
Temperature-Controlled Expertise:
- Oversee cold chain management procedures to maintain product quality.
- Collaborate with teams to optimize temperature-controlled storage and distribution.
Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations from audits, inspections, and investigations.
- Communicate findings effectively to senior management, fostering actionable improvements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance compliance processes.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and compliance organization-wide.
Other Duties:
- Liaise with relevant authorities regarding incidents, inspections, or regulatory matters.
- Support company objectives as outlined in the Quality Policy.
- Perform additional tasks as required by leadership.
Required Experience & Skills:
Essential:
- Proven compliance experience in a temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of BRCGS Storage & Distribution Standards.
- Familiarity with FMCG products.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and health & safety protocols.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Relevant certifications in Health & Safety or Quality Assurance.
- Experience leading external audits and engaging with regulatory bodies.
