Job Title: Development Engineer, Fuel Systems

About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Development Engineer to join the Component Engineering team, focusing on the design and development of air and fuel system components for industrial engines. This role offers the chance to work on both new and existing product platforms, collaborating with a global team to deliver high-quality and reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities-
Plan and deliver air/fuel system and component development projects within set timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Communicate project progress and key challenges to peers, stakeholders, and management.

Lead design reviews to gain business support for new designs, supplier selection, and capital investment.

Work closely with suppliers to develop specifications and ensure quality solutions through APQP.

Assess technical risks using FMEA and coordinate validation activities (DVP&R).

Investigate and resolve technical issues using the 8D problem-solving methodology.

Collaborate with Product Management to align designs with customer needs and requirements.

Prepare and review technical reports to support production design releases.

Work with global teams to implement engineering solutions across international facilities.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement using Lean methodology.
Candidates should have the following qualifications and experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent knowledge/experience).

6-8 years of experience in engineering or a relevant technical field.

Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, engine components/systems, and component development, with a preference for fuel systems experience.

Knowledge of manufacturing principles and processes.

Self-motivated with strong project management skills.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.
The following skills and experience would be advantageous:

Expertise in fuel systems, air systems, EGR systems, performance, and data analysis.

Experience with APQP, FMEA, and DVP&R methodologies.

Previous engineering experience in the off-highway diesel engine sector.

Proficiency in 3D CAD (PTC Creo).

Strong analytical skills with experience in component/system development through simulation, rig testing, and full system testing.
