We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in North Cambridgeshire. This role offers flexibility in terms of contract type, with options for both temporary and permanent positions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching English and a proven track record in secondary education.
Day-to-day of the role:- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons to secondary school students.
- Assess and record students’ progress and provide feedback to promote learning and development.
- Develop and use a variety of teaching materials and approaches to suit different learning styles.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a constructive environment.
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and stakeholders to maximise student learning.
- Participate in and organise school events and activities related to the English Department.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in English.
- Experience teaching English at the secondary level.
- Strong understanding of the UK secondary education curriculum for English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students.
- Must possess a current DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one.
