HLTA - Higher Level Teaching AssistantPeterborough Are you a qualified Teaching Assistant with a passion in supporting children to reach their highest potential?We are working with a well-reputed secondary school based in Peterborough who are looking for a Full-time Higher-level teaching assistant to support across KS3 and KS4. The position is to start immediately and for the right candidate, will be made permanent. A HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) will work under the direction and supervision of the lead teacher to contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning activities for whole classes, groups and individual pupils. Assigned tasks may involve conducting sessions for entire classes independently, without a teacher present, as a regular part of the schedule or on a more occasional, temporary basis. Additionally, HLTAs may assume daily managerial duties for Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, and classroom volunteers, while also playing a role in shaping policy and strategic advancements.REQUIREMENTS* HLTA status/ qualification * Level 2 qualifications in English & Maths* Experience of supporting planning, evaluation anddelivery of learning activities for children and youngpeople in a formal setting.* Knowledge of child protection, health and safetyprocedures and their application in a school setting.* Awareness of a range of frameworks that support theeducation, development and well-being of children* Ability and willingness to undertake professionaldevelopment.* Good interpersonal skills.* Empathy with children and young people.* Ability to effectively manage pupil behaviour inaccordance with school policy and procedure.* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.This is an excellent opportunity to secure a full-time position for the new year.
