The Company

They are an independently operated franchisee of a highly reputable company in the UK, providing small, medium and large businesses in the local area with bespoke signage solutions; from simple banners to large custom-built signs, vehicle graphics to illuminated built-up letters and sign trays.

Working within a high-performing team of hard-working people, the Sign Maker is responsible for producing a variety of bespoke signage products. The successful candidate will be used to working under pressure and with changing tight deadlines, consequently, you will have a good ability for forward planning and flexibility, you will ideally have experience using a large format printer, plotter and laminator as well as being skilled in the art of weeding, vinyl application, and sign installation.

We are looking for a confident, personable and motivated individual with a good eye for detail, they should be flexible in their approach to work as no two days are the same.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Producing finished signs from a variety of materials
  • Operating machines such as large-format printers, vinyl plotters & roll to roll laminator
  • Ordering production materials: vinyl, laminates and substrates and consumables
  • Running regular print machine maintenance routines and keeping computerised production software up to date
  • Assist in onsite signage installations from time to time as required
  • Creating and amending artwork using Adobe and/or Sign Lab

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Skilled in the use of Adobe Illustrator/ISgn Lab and RIP software
  • Large format printer experience
  • Operation of Vinyl Plotter
  • Vinyl preparation, lamination and application skills

General Skills / Aptitudes & Experience:

  • Full driving license
  • A passion for accuracy and producing high quality signs
  • Time management and prioritising workflow skills are essential
  • Ability to multi-task and work off of your own initiative
  • Team player and ability to work under time pressure
  • Able to move heavy materials around the production environment
  • Confident to work at customer locations for on-site installations
