Peterborough Children’s Services is looking to appoint two dynamic and experienced Assistant Principal Social Workers. This is an excellent career development opportunity to drive forward practice improvement and create the conditions where good social work can flourish. Acting as a critical friend within Children’s Services, you will champion Family Valued and will lead regular discussions with social workers and managers about current practice issues, promoting best practice and delivering training. You will report to the newly appointed Service Director- Practice and will support the Practice Framework across Children and Young People’s Services including actively engaging the voice of Children and Families.A successful applicant will have excellent frontline practice skills; sound experience in children's social care; the ability to analyse complex information and use this to support improvement in practice; a positive communicator who can collaborate, influence, challenge with excellent verbal and written skills. We are looking for someone who is deeply committed to improving outcomes for children and young people in Peterborough and will go the extra mile to make this happen.Interviews are expected to take place week commencing 11th November. Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
