We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for aTeaching Assistant with British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 or 2, to join our friendly and supportive team at a leading mainstream secondary school. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and interested in furthering their BSL skills through on-the-job training and development.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support students with hearing impairments by facilitating communication through BSL.
  • Assist in the classroom under the direction of the lead teacher, helping to deliver educational material and engage students in learning activities.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, ensuring they understand the curriculum and are able to participate fully in class activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to implement strategies that support student learning and inclusion.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to advance your skills in BSL and educational support.
  • Help create an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 or 2.
  • Interest in pursuing further BSL training and certification.
  • Experience in an educational setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A passion for supporting inclusive education and helping students achieve their potential.
