Role Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEN/SEMH Tutors with PGCE or QTS qualifications to join our team in Peterborough. The successful candidates will work closely with students to provide individualised instruction and support, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering personalised tutoring sessions to students with SEN/SEMH needs, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning styles and requirements.
  • Developing and implementing tailored learning plans in collaboration with other educational professionals and parents.
  • Providing emotional and social support to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, maintaining detailed records and adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborating with school staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Participating in regular training and professional development to stay current with best practices in SEN/SEMH education.

Requirements:

  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) / QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Demonstrable experience in working with SEN/SEMH students.
  • Strong understanding of various SEN/SEMH conditions and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the varying needs of students.
