Our client is a start-up full-fibre broadband provider who are actively seeking a Head of PMO to join their business

The Head of PMO is responsible for leading the project office and managing projects in the PMO delivery portfolio for the business across ISP, Networks, and Technology functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Governance: Ensure all projects adhere to company standards and methodologies
  • Project Support: Provide comprehensive project support, ensuring smooth and efficient project delivery
  • Lead digital transformation projects in conjunction with respective SME’s, working closely with third-party suppliers to deliver effective solutions and software.
  • Lead change management initiatives in conjunction with respective SME’s, overseeing defect resolution and system enhancements through the full software development lifecycle (agile)
  • Deliver projects that drive the development of new features and enhancements for the company’s digital presence.
  • Improve and optimise the projects delivery process, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Oversee the budget planning, resource allocation
  • Generate and maintain comprehensive reports on performance, providing actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Implementing project standards across the organisation to ensure consistency and quality
  • Developing and managing a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives
  • Providing governance and oversight for all project activities
  • Facilitating communication across project teams to promote transparency and collaboration
  • Managing resources, timelines, and budgets to achieve project goals
  • Refine and consistently improve the project management framework to ensure consistency and efficiency in delivery
  • Mentors Project Managers and Project Coordinators and provide guidance for them to adopt and adhere to the project management framework.
  • Ensures all costs are being forecasted and actuals being captured and tracked against the business forecasts and budgets
  • Creates and maintains a rolled-up view of projects, including plans, status, budgets, key risks, issues, and mitigations for review and discussion with leadership team and stakeholders.

Experience:

  • At least 5 - 10 years’ project management experience
  • Demonstrable experience setting up a PMO from scratch
  • Commercially astute, technically savvy, agile
  • Software: SalesForce and Jira (advantageous)
  • Experience successfully managing technical and commercial projects / programmes.
  • Cost and commercial management.
  • Risk management.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and meeting funding and operational targets.
  • Experience of compiling clear and concise technical and non-technical reports.
  • Strong evidence of people management in a multi skilled environment.
  • Skilled in using industry standard project management tools and technology.
  • Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a small, multi-departmental team, to include collaboration and oversight of external partners
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Must possess industry standard qualifications
