Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for a Day Operator at their Energy from Waste (EfW) Power Station in Peterborough.
The crucial Day Operator role comes with a basic salary of 34,069 + a partial shift allowance of 2,217 + overtime + up to 10% bonus + other benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Day Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
- Controlling vehicle movements in the tipping hall area
- Assisting with loading and unloading operations
- Operation of mobile plant and machinery in accordance with the company's procedures
- Operations of weighbridges when required and completing the necessary tickets associated
- Carry out first line maintenance activities within the tipping hall area
- Operating the overhead grab crane via the control room when required
- Carry out random inspections of waste arriving to site in the tipping hall to ensure compliance with the permit and reporting any none-conformance
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- An engineering qualification will be advantageous, but not a necessity
- Possessing mobile plant tickets will be highly advantageous
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Day Operator role would suit someone who has:
- Experience in mobile plant operations
- Prior experience working in the waste management sector
- Good IT skills with ability to use MS applications
Salary and benefits of the Day Operator role
- A total remuneration of c.36,286 inclusive of partial shift allowance
- Up to 10% bonus
