Pumping Station Attendant / Land Drainage Worker
As a Pumping Station Attendant/Land Drainage Worker, you would be responsible to the Board’s Works Supervisor and Operations Engineer.
The above post is a dual role to support both the direct labour team on channel maintenance operations and maintenance and operation of the Boards 12 pumping stations.
Applicants would need to be enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated with the ability to work both alone and as a team member.
You would become part of the Board’s operational team based at the Board’s Green Drove Depot at Thorney and must have the communication and organisational skills to carry out this role.

Job Title: Pumping Station Attendant / Land Drainage Worker
Department: Operations
Reporting to: Works Supervisor and Engineers
Duties:
• Routine pumping station maintenance including inspections and general maintenance to both pumps and grounds
• Assisting the full-time pumping station attendant on the larger site
• Culvert construction and channel maintenance
• Traffic management
• Culvert cleaning
• Hand Roding
• Piling
• Bushing
The above list is not exhaustive and may vary.
Qualifications:
Ideally knapsack spraying certificate and street works operations would advantageous, however full training would be provided on all aspects of the job as and when required.
Skills:
• Full driving licence essential with B + E for trailer towing
• Good knowledge and understanding of all aspects of health and safety at work
Remuneration:
• Hours - 38 hours per week and overtime when required
• Basic rate of pay - £13.39 per hour
• Vehicle - A van would be provided for work use only
• Option to join the LGPS pension scheme
