Maintenance Technician

Location: Peterborough
Contract details: 12 months (inside IR35), 37 hours per week

The Opportunity
Belcan Workforce Solutions have partnered with a leading manufacturer of diesel engines in their search for a Maintenance Technician based at their Peterborough site.
This role sits within the Global Engine Department, providing expert technical support to the state-of-the-art engine test facility to ensure quality data output is maintained. The team has responsibility for the manufacture, implementation and upgrade of test facility support systems and rigs to assist in engine development and verification.

The Role

  • As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responding to testbed and other facility breakdowns using fault finding to effectively conduct repairs and run improvement and root cause investigation projects and present findings through technical presentations.
  • You will also be conducting fault finding and diagnostics on hydraulics and fuels systems and laser alignment of rotating equipment.
  • Additional responsibilities may include working to and modelling health and safety standards to keep individuals, team members, and the public safe, and training and supporting your coworkers when necessary.

About You

  • You will have served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • You should have a thorough knowledge of maintenance processes and tools, machine shop operations, equipment and processes, as well as familiarity with materials and quality objectives.
  • You must also have the ability to read and interment mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings and schematics.
