Are you an experienced Commercial Manager looking for an exciting new challenge in the power sector?

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled professional to lead the commercial aspects of a high-profile, multi-million-pound power project for a major energy provider.

Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to work on the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project in Peterhead. This landmark project will unlock Scotland’s vast renewable energy capacity and significantly enhance the UK’s ability to deliver clean energy to around two million homes. Your expertise will play a crucial role in the success of this venture, and they are keen to welcome an experienced professional to their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the commercial management of a major power sector project, ensuring financial performance and compliance.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise profitability and minimise risk.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quantity surveyors and other commercial professionals.
  • Manage contract negotiations, procurement processes, and supplier relationships.
  • Provide strategic advice on contractual matters, dispute resolution, and risk management.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Extensive experience as a Commercial Manager in the construction or power sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and commercial management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
